This year’s selection of the“Top 10 Toys 2025” once again offers plenty of fun, innovation and educational added value. The list – curated by experts from the toy industry – clearly shows that children not only want to be entertained, but also challenged and inspired.

Whether classic board games, sustainable educational toys or digital gadgets – we take a look at some of the most exciting new products. We were particularly impressed by three games: Charidice, Tapple and MicroMacro Kids: The crazy city park. They impressively demonstrate just how much creativity can be found in modern board games.

Charidice – A game with a generosity bonus

Charidice is a sophisticated dice game that combines quick rounds with tactical depth. In seven rounds, 2 to 4 players try to score as many points as possible by cleverly combining dice.

The special feature: Unused cubes are passed on to the neighbor on the left, giving them additional points. This creates an exciting dynamic of self-interest and forced generosity. If you play cleverly, you only give your neighbor a little – or a lot – in order to secure the “generosity bonus” at the end.

Charidice impresses with its simple rules, a short playing time of around 20 minutes and lots of interaction at the table. Despite its simplicity, it requires constant tactical considerations and rewards forward-looking play. This makes it ideal for family rounds as well as for frequent players looking for a quick, clever game for in between.

Tapple – letters, speed, creativity!

A classic in a new guise: Tapple brings speed and linguistic wit to the game table. The aim of the game is to find matching words for a generic term (e.g. “animals”) – but be careful: each letter can only be used once!

The large tapple wheel in the middle, which clicks to start a countdown with each round, immediately creates tension. The players think, laugh, argue and try to get their ideas out at lightning speed. Anyone who hesitates too long is out.

Particularly exciting: Tapple can be easily adapted to different age groups – from elementary school to adults. An absolute all-rounder and deservedly nominated for the Top 10 Toys 2025.

MicroMacro Kids: The crazy city park

The “MicroMacro” series has received numerous awards in recent years – and with the new kids’ edition, the successful hidden object thriller is finally being made accessible to younger children.

In “Der verrückte Stadtpark”, children aged 6 and over experience simple detective stories that they solve by carefully observing a huge, detailed game map. They slip into the role of little investigators who have to find lost animals, follow mysterious clues or solve little puzzles about the behavior of the townspeople.

The child-friendly design, the cooperative game principle and the lovingly drawn world make this edition one of the most charming games of the year – with added educational value included.
