The worker placement game Hallertau by successful author Uwe Rosenberg is set in the time around 1850, when the Hallertau became a successful hop region. In the game, you take on the role of village leaders who supply the local craft businesses with goods in order to expand their village.

Your goal is to collect as many points as possible in six rounds. However, the expansion of your village becomes more and more expensive in the course of a game, so the game literally puts obstacles in your way. To produce animal products, you should breed sheep: this way you will get milk every round. You can also shear your sheep to get wool or exchange them for meat and hides. To get a lot of crops quickly, you should use a two-field economy. In the game, you are also supported by a number of game cards that can provide you with resources or useful effects. Some cards even give you income or victory points. Which of you will be able to play your cards correctly and make your village shine in new splendour?
