Pull the model open with the special key, turn the chimney, which acts as a start/stop switch, and then watch the fascinating movements of the gears, wheels and coupling rods as the locomotive chugs away. On a smooth, level surface, the Hogwarts™ Express from Ugears can travel 4 metres with tender and wagon, the locomotive alone 6 metres.

The attractive locomotive can run alone or you can couple two wagons – a coal tender and a passenger coach. The coal tender is empty, so you can store the key for winding the train or other small items here.

The locomotive drives the model with its metal spring motor and the gears for transmitting the power to the wheels. It is wound up with a special spanner (there are slots for the spanner on both the right and left sides of the machine), but make sure that the chimney is in the “stop” position beforehand. Once the spring is wound up, hold the model firmly and turn the chimney to the “start position”. You can then release it and watch the train move off in a straight line. Admire the wheels and push rods of this wonderful train in operation!
