The floor model is a replica of the Mercedes-Benz 2238 6×4. For a long time, the 2238 S 6 x 4 truck was Mercedes’ reference point for heavy long-distance work. The truck had both rear axles driven and a total of 375 hp. It was one of the heaviest Mercedes long-distance trucks and had reached new dimensions in international long-distance transport. The characteristics of the OM422 engine made for particularly economical driving. Gear changes were reduced to a minimum, guaranteeing very smooth driving. It achieved good commercial success worldwide. The reliable chassis was a platform for the development of adaptations and dedicated versions for specific requirements. It can be seen as a starting point for the development of the next generations of road vehicles.
